The watercolor paper acts as placeholders for the skins.  When constructed, the interventions will interact with the tower structure by connected vertical space through a sinuous path of layered material.

Project 2 - Tower - Abruzere

This drawing represents a collage of the previous Musical and Film exploration of "The Fountain" along with the process model created using the initial process drawing as a section cut of the structure. Various systems were explored and joined that hold the model as a structure, eventually to be built as a final model used for intervention and architectural exploration.

Meiyan - Drawdel 1

This drawdel, created by Meiyan, is an interesting exploration of space through  two-dimensional representation. By using the same line weight repeatedly she was able to achieve an outstanding interpretation of spatial boundaries with the absence of differentiating line weights. In my opinion, this drawing is an exciting example of how one may perceive space through a two-dimensional drawing. In turn, its composition relates strongly to the various filmed perspectives of the movie The Fountain.

Favorite Drawdel

It was tough to choose my favorite out of the group's drawings/drawdels, as I appreciated different ones for different reasons.  I finally decided to choose Bri's first set because I thought it expressed the original drawing well, without copying it as a model.

I also appreciated the alterations Bri made on the original drawdel, which made it far better, in my opinion.  The way the linear elements lay on, or sit above, the drawdel give a clue to the real make up of the object, which is ambiguous in the 2D drawing.  The way the folded paper nodes make solid extrusions, also implicates the creation of negative pathways between the nodes.

While I think that using a base to start somewhat limited the drawdel in one sense, the final product and its craft still created a compelling piece.
